Exploring New Frontiers in "Technology + Music" Integration

2025/07/21

On July 11, the CMIA organized leading Chinese music experts to visit INNEO International—a key enterprise in the Wuhan Academy of Industrial Sciences (WHAIS) park—to investigate instrument import-export trade, cultural industries, service outsourcing, and instrument technology innovation. Attendees included heads of the China Light Industry Council, Zhao Min (former Party Secretary of the Central Conservatory of Music), seven industry leaders, and government representatives, who collectively offered strategic guidance for the company’s development.

As a municipal research institution, WHAIS commits to "empowering industries through technology and driving growth via innovation," focusing on frontier fields like digital economy and AI to build national-level incubation platforms. Its science park incubator has received "Grade A" ratings in national evaluations for five consecutive years, nurturing 75 high-tech enterprises—includingINNEO International. By leveraging strengths in IT and education resources, WHAIS promotes synergy across music education, digital technology, and smart manufacturing, positioning Wuhan as a dual-engine hub for "tech + culture."

A WHAIS representative stated thatINNEO International—a standout incubator success—integrates acoustics and semiconductor technologies into instrument manufacturing, breaking Western technical barriers. Its intelligent pianos now export to 50+ countries/regions, with 2024 group revenue exceeding RMB 400 million. Recognized as a provincial "Specialized, Sophisticated, and Innovative" (专精特新) "Little Giant" enterprise,INNEO exemplifies the boundless potential of "technology + music" fusion. WHAIS pledged full-chain support for intelligent instrument R&D and music-tech incubation.

During the visit, experts witnessedINNEO’s smart instrument demos and a piano-violin-cello trio performance by Wuhan Conservatory artists, praising the company’s innovations. CMIA’s Chairman advised strengthening "Five Strategic Pillars" to accelerate digital-intelligent transformation. This research not only chartsINNEO’s path forward but also highlights WHAIS’s critical role in cultivating tech enterprises and advancing "four-chain integration" (innovation, industry, capital, talent).
